Look hard enough, and there is a game out there for everyone. This includes those who like driving cars, but not necessarily at rip roaring speeds. Bus Simulator 21 lets you get behind the wheel of a variety of different busses, with exquisite art and lifelike sounds taken directly from the real version of the simulator’s busses.
A new world map to explore
In Bus Simulator 21, there are 30 of these incredibly realistic buses to amble around town in, a huge increase from an earlier version, Bus Simulator 18’s, modest 8 buses.
Previous installments of the game featured a European seaside village, but Bus Simulator 21 will have a new map to explore as well as the old one. The new one is called Angel Shores, and is a fictional city modeled after San Francisco. This, along with new electric buses and so much more are available in the game.
A surprisingly stressful game
You might think that driving a bus around town would be dull, but there’s plenty of things keeping the pressure on throughout your drive. The counter is always ticking down, and people will complain if you are late for their stop. If you hit the curb, forget to turn your blinker on, or make other driving mistakes you will be fined for it. There’s always something that needs to be looked after or attended to, no matter where you are in the game.
Despite this, the game is overall worth playing. It gives you an inside look at what it’s like to be a real bus driver, and makes you appreciate what they are going through. It’s similar in a lot of ways to World of Subways 3: London Underground, but with buses instead. Once you’ve played a game like this, you’re unlikely to complain about a real life bus driver because you know what it’s like to be in their shoes.
Multiplayer Option
One of the unique features of the Bus Simulator series is the fact that there are multiplayer options available. You can create your own unique route and drive it with friends. The game also offers a few scenarios that can only be played out in multiplayer, to help keep things interesting.
In convoy mode for example, you must drive with another bus to collect a huge amount of people from the city. This is harder than it sounds because the buses can cut each other off, and accidents are highly likely.
Release coming soon
Most of what we know about Bus Simulator 21 is based on past versions of the game, updates from beta players, and sneak peeks offered by the developers. It’s scheduled to be released in September, 2021. Fans of the game are looking forward to the improved appearance of the game and new buses.
It’s hard to judge how good a game will be when it hasn’t come out yet, but it’s likely to be a great improvement over past games. If you’re a fan of out-of-the-box simulators, you may find this bus simulator an enjoyable game to play.
