Crysis 2 Remastered

If you want to play a stunning first-person shooter with some stunning graphics in an amazing world, then look no further than Crysis 2: Remastered. An amazing game from start to finish, this title offers some of the most satisfying gameplay that you can find in a shoot-em up, but delivers it wrapped up in a stunning futuristic world with some of the best visuals that I’ve ever seen in a game. Playing this is a dream come true, especially if you are a long-standing fan of the series. If this sounds like a grand experience to behold, you are correct. Let’s get into it.

Gameplay

The gameplay for Crysis 2: Remastered has not been updated by an astonishing degree, but given how the original was already leagues above any game of its time, it still holds up. That is not to say that some changes haven’t been made. The nanosuit experience has been drastically streamlined, and the upgrade menu has been reduced, not to take anything away, but to make it easier to navigate and make better use of. The nanosuit, although amazing, does not make your character invincible. You must still spend time managing its power output and energy to make sure you aren’t caught with your trousers round your ankles in a difficult situation. The gameplay has some elements that you would recognize from other titles like Far Cry 3, or even BioShock.

For all intents and purposes, this is a standard first-person shooter with some amazing stealth mechanics. If you want to play a game that offers you multiple different methods to deal with enemies, but also has a strong story driven campaign that keeps you on the edge of your seat, then this is, without a doubt, the game for you. I have had a tremendous amount of fun playing through this game, battling amazing and unique enemies, finding collectibles, and trying out different playstyles. There really isn’t much to complain about for a truly well-designed game.

Visuals

The visual update is obviously the most impressive component of this title. Originally a stunning looking game in its own right, Crysis 2: Remastered offers brand new experience with a stunning facelift that keep the game looking fresh. I will say that it is not a perfect remaster, there are still some aspects, like the collectibles and some of the textures that haven’t translated properly, but you will find, overall, the experience has been given a new lease on life that will have you staring at the virtual environments in amazement for hours.

Story and World

Crysis has one of the most interesting stories and game worlds that I’ve experienced. The alien Cephs and the nanosuits themselves, are incredibly interesting. I regularly find myself listening intently to the story and scouring through in-game files to find more information about it all. If you want to play a game that provides a narrative like none you’ve seen before, then this is the perfect game for you.
