Videogames are clearly a global unifier in the sense that their communities care little about the nationalities of the players in most cases. But that doesn't mean that every game makes it to every territory in the world, and some really cool games never see the light in the west, and vice versa. It seems that Kakao Games continues to bet on bringing Asian titles to the West. Recently we have been able to see a new game that will be coming soon to Steam. Dysterra is one of these titles that are making its way into a global market. Dysterra is a multiplayer shooter with survival game touches, and it's a very interesting concept, so let's talk more about it!

About the game

Dysterra is the new open-world online shooter being developed by Reality MagiQ and Kakao Games. The story focuses on the actions of soldiers in their quest to acquire the precious alien material Terrasite. Each soldier will be equipped with a technological super armor that will allow him to manipulate this metal to build equipment, tools, and structures to survive and defend against enemy attacks. However, they will not be alone. Every player can work together with others or compete against them, depending on whether he wants to cooperate or go head to head.

But we mentioned that one of the key elements that separate Dysterra from many other FPS games is that it also involves solid survival mechanics in. Players will need to collect resources to improve their gear. These include food, fuel, water, medicine... and even money. Resources will be found around the map, but they will be in limited quantities. this is a little similar to games like Rust or ARK.

The game has an interesting premise, and its gameplay should please many fans of survival games. However, we still don't know when it will reach all territories, although there is a beta available for those who wish to try the game before launch. More than they can handle?

When you take a first look at Dysterra you might think that these devs are going a little crazy with their game. It looks really good, and it has some excellent, and complex, game mechanics that involve both the survival and the shooting elements. So, is this too much for a developer team you probably haven't even heard from?

Well, you'll soon realize that there's nothing to actually worry about, these developers really know what they're doing. Just take a quick look at another one of their games, a little title by the name of Black Desert Online. One of the most popular MOBAs in all of Korea, it has amazing visuals, a huge player base, and amazing graphics.

Dysterra is still in development, so we cannot give a final rating yet. But judging by what we've seen so far, this game is set to become one of the biggest hits of the survival genre.
