Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a mash-up of the Fighting and Role Playing Game genres, and features familiar characters and gameplay mechanics from previous entries in the Fire Emblem series. The game also features new and unique characters, allowing players to traverse maps, capture forts, defeat enemies, and complete a story mode divided into chapters depicting different battles. The game has depth with its combat consisting of both attack and defensive moves.
Your Turn To Battle
Players will be able to choose from a large roster of characters and defeat enemies with their weapon of choice. Each character can equip two weapons (one in each hand) at any given time but it's up to the player to decide which weapons will work best for them based on what kind of playstyle they're going for: sword wielders can perform critical strikes or defend against attacks; axe wielders have powerful attacks with longer animations but do less damage than swords; lance users have good range but low speed; bow users have high damage potential but take time before being able to attack again after firing an arrow; lords have superior abilities such as healing allies or increasing stats temporarily while mercenaries are more balanced between offense and defense while archers don't really stand out except when using their special skill called "Dragonslayer" which shoots multiple arrows at once!
The combat in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is pretty straightforward if it follows the tradition of previous entries of the franchise. The bulk of your attacks will come from performing attack moves—this is where most of your damage will come from too—but they aren't necessarily any better than defensive moves! In fact, some might argue that certain characters have better defensive abilities than offensive ones. While everyone has access to some kind of basic block function that reduces damage sustained when guarding against an incoming blow, there are certain characters who also have access to more powerful counterattacks which can deal out crippling amounts of punishment in return!
Conclusion
The story mode itself has some good moments. It's nice seeing the characters of two franchises interact with one another without feeling forced or unnatural. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes features a story mode divided into chapters, each depicting a different battle. In this case, the battles are almost all derived from the1996 entry Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. Those familiar with the series will immediately recognize these stories and scenarios as they play out. For newcomers, it's an excellent way to get introduced to various characters and see how their stories intersect with one another.
Fire Emblem Warriors is a game that has something for everyone. It features classic RPG elements, like weapon upgrades and character leveling up, but also real-time battles that can be both challenging and addictive. Overall, the game is well worth your time if you enjoy either the Fire Emblem franchise, Vandal Hearts, The Valkyria Chronicles, or JRPGs in general.
