High School DxD

High School DxD is a game that I had no idea existed. However, I have a good buddy who is all about getting these weird and unusual games to me! This is based on a popular anime in Japan. One of the most surprising aspects of the game is that this is a Nintendo 3DS game which I think is pretty cool. That is right, this is a lewd game that was released for the Nintendo 3DS. Today, I thought I would spread the word and share my thoughts on the game.

Season One

High School DxD for the Nintendo 3DS was released fairly early in the life of the anime so it follows the plot of the first season. The basics are we have this high school student called Issei and he has dreams of having a whole bunch of hot girls at his beck and call. He goes on a date and ends up getting killed! This was no normal woman that killed him, she was a fallen angel and now he is going to serve her. I think the premise here is pretty awesome and the anime has been on my “to watch list” for a while now. The game is all in Japanese so I had no clue what was going on, but it looked fun!

More Than Words

One thing that is pretty awesome about High School DxD for the Nintendo 3DS is that while the game is a visual novel and most of what you will be doing is pressing the A button to move the story along. There is also a training mechanic here and a turn based battle system as well. You control the battles via the Nintendo 3DS touch screen and it adds in a bit more “gameplay” to things which is fun. From what I could tell, there is a boss battle at the end of each story section.

Lewd 3DS

Visually High School DxD is pretty good. From the little bits that I have seen online about the anime, it looks very close to it. From what I experienced with the game, there was some great lewd action here which was pretty awesome to see on the Nintendo 3DS.

The level of animation may not be the best, but this is a visual novel on the 3DS we are talking about here so you do have to take that into consideration. The characters look cool and perhaps the best compliment I can give this is that it made me even more interested in checking out the actual anime.

7.5

It is always hard to review a game when you do not speak the language. I was able to fumble my way through High School DxD for the Nintendo 3DS. To be honest, I used a guide to make sure I could see some of the lewd scenes and also get to take part in the boss battles. However, I could tell that there was something here and while I do think that your knowledge of the anime will play into how much you get out of it, as I said, it certainly has made me want to learn more about this series.

Pros:

  • It follows the story from the first season of the anime
  • I liked the character art in the game
  • It is pretty awesome how there are turn based boss battles in the game
  • I am sure fans of the anime will love this

Cons:

  • It is all in Japanese and I do not think there is an English patch!
  • Playing a lewd visual novel on the 3DS is pretty awesome, but also kind of weird!
