Hotel Business Simulator

While I do think that Hotel Business Simulator needs a little bit more work, I am liking what I have played so far and I think this does have a lot of potential. The game has been tweaked a few times already (as of writing) so the developer is still trying to get this thing just right. If you like games where you get to design rooms and run a business, this is probably going to be a game that you have some fun with. Sure it may be rough around the edges right now, but with a bit more work, I can see this being a big hit.

Starting Small Ending Big

The idea behind Hotel Business Simulator is that we are trying to become a big hotel mogul. We need to start with a small humble place, but hopefully build up to a massive hotel where everyone wants to stay. As you would expect, there is not much of a story here, most of what you get is dealing with your guests as they tell you what they want and what they need. To be fair, it is probably similar to a “sim” game like Powerwash Simulator or House Flipper in regards to the way the “story” is handled.

Whistle While You Work

No matter if it is The Sims or Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, making a room is a relaxing and fun experience and that is the best part of Hotel Business Simulator. I will say that in this rather early build of the game I have played, there is not exactly a ton of stuff when it comes to designing the rooms and making them all unique. There is certainly enough stuff here for you to get your creative flag going, but I do hope that they add more stuff for us to spruce our rooms up with. Also, I have to say that the rate at which things unlock seems very slow.

Get Back To Work

Another aspect of keeping your hotel running is hiring maids. Now, Hotel Business Simulator has a rather sexy looking maid on the main screen and I will be honest, my mind went straight to the gutter with what I thought they were going for! Nope, they may look hot, but they are not offering any extras! The maids are essential as it is your star rating that will make people want to come to your hotel and if the rooms are dirty, you will get bad reviews. I am sure that it is an early access thing, but my maids would stop working, and get stuck walking into walls and I felt like I had to be way more hands on (not the kind of hands on I would have really liked) with the maids to get them to do what I wanted them to do.

The Right Room For The Right Guest

I touched on this just before, but a huge part of the progression in Hotel Business Simulator is making sure that your customers are happy and leaving good reviews. The idea here is that you match the right customer with the right room. This causes you to be quite diverse with the kind of rooms that you are designing. Sometimes I found myself being caught of guard by what a guest would want and this would make me design a room like that in case a future client asked for that.

Pros:

• This is the kind of game that can be very addictive
• I like the idea of running a hotel
• Hey, it may sound bad, but I like how the maids are easy on the eyes

Cons:

• The early access version I played did feel rough around the edges
• The maids just seem to do what they want which could be frustrating
