Simulation games have taken an interesting turn in the last few years. While back in the prime of simulation games, which was probably with all The Sims games, simulating life was the thing, now it's no more. Games like Farming Simulator 2020 and Truck Simulator are the most popular simulation titles out there. So that's where Junkyard Simulator comes into play, or at least that's the idea.
Now, the thing is that this game has been delayed so many times, it is uncertain if it's even coming out this year. But since they insist it is coming out this Q4, it's good timing to check what we know about the game and get a little preview. So, let's see what's Junkyard Simulator holds for us.
Joke's on how long the product has taken aside, this game is actually releasing a prologue. It's meant to be a playable edition of the early parts of the game. This is centered on the beginning of the game, so it's not really a prologue but more of a demo of the full game. The prologue is out right now, and from a very first glance, you can easily tell how much the game has improved from the earlier tests and pieces they showed us.
You get to do a few objectives to start your junkyard experience. To do this they also introduce the player to all the basics of the game experience. However, since this prologue is more of a demo, it is still pretty limited in terms of how much you can do and how far you can actually explore the game. We'll have to keep on waiting for the full game to be released.
A unique experience
Just like many other simulator games, this one takes its best shot at making it a realistic experience, and it does a fine job at that. It allows you to run many tasks that are common to junkyards. Now, you may not know what exactly happens in junkyards, and no, they are not just placing people throw out old abandoned stuff, actually, there's a lot of work involved in maintaining one.
But don't worry, the game walks you through the basics of what you're supposed to do and the tasks you need to take care of. There's also the added element of maintaining the pace economically, so you need to work as efficiently as possible if you want to have a successful junkyard. There are many tasks like transporting the junk, compressing it, selling it, and much more.
While the release date of the game is still uncertain, the prologue shows a promising title, with better visuals than what you might expect from the title. You get to control heavy machinery, get a lot of tasks done, and manage your business. You control your junkyard, and it’s up to you to lead a profitable business. It’s fun, but there’s room for improvement, and the constant delays in the release date are getting annoying.
