Let's School

As soon as I saw Let's School, I knew that this was a game for me. I love management style games and off the top of my head, I cannot think of many others that let us run a school, well there is one, but technically that is about running a college/university so I see this as being a bit different. When the demo dropped for this I downloaded it right away and go so hooked that I added the full game straight to my wish list. This game is just so awesome and addictive that I can see myself spending many evenings playing this into the wee hours of the morning.

Build Me A School!

That was a kind of Saved by the Bell reference there and if you get it, you are awesome and can hang out with me and Kelly Kapowski any day! As you have guessed the whole point of Let's School is to manage your dream school. We play the role of a headteacher who has just taken up the mantle of his former school and we want to make this the best damn school that we can and ensure that all of the students get the best education and have the best school experience that is possible!

Laying The Foundations

There are two main aspects to the gameplay of Let's School and the first one is actually building your school. Of course, the education board gives you a rather modest budget to start with, but you have pretty much free reign to come up with the school of your dreams. The game encourages you to be very creative and after a while, if you are managing your school properly, it is entirely possible to have a massive multistory school that every parent in the city wants to send their kids to.

That Work Life Balance

Of course, building your school is just part of the gameplay, running the school is another thing entirely. You need to hire the right staff and the way that Let's School goes about adding teachers and students to your school is really cool as we have a ton of choice how this goes down. Ensuring that the best teachers are there to teach the kids is key, but you also have to make sure that your teachers are happy and progressing in their careers to ensure that they are doing the best job that you can. Being so hands on with the staff and students makes the game much more personable.

Happy Kids, Happy School

A huge part of the fun for me with Let's School is managing the more fun part of school life. You do stuff like plan field trips, buy fancy equipment for them to learn with, and so on. Making sure the canteen is just right, but not so full of pizza that your school starts to develop an obesity problems! It is pretty amazing how many factors go into making sure that your school is running right and that the students and staff are happy. No matter if it is making sure that the sports teams have their gear or the computer lab has the latest gear, there is always something to work towards in this game.

Pros:

• Trying to run a school is way more fun than you would think
• The actual building of your school is awesome
• This is just a super charming game
• I liked trying to walk the fine line of getting good results, and keeping staff and students happy

Cons:

• This is the kind of game that can take over all of your gaming time if you let it
• I would like to see more stuff added to the game such as new extracurricular activities and more drama outside of the school too

Let's School is a simulation of being a school principal, with a little more power. You have an old school at your disposal and can mold it into anything your heart desires. Build your own management system, lesson schedule and the number of hours per class. Change the appearance of the school, complete buildings and erect new wings. Monitor student behavior and correct problematic behavior before a global problem arises.
