Mad Experiments 2: Escape Room is just what the title suggests, an escape room themed game. The difference here is that there is a multiplayer component to the game as well. I have played a few escape room style games before, but I think this is the first one that is offering multiplayer as well a single-player gameplay. The game has a demo as I write this and I wanted to take a closer look at what kind of things you can expect when you check this game out.
Escaping The Cheshire Institute
No matter if you play Mad Experiments 2: Escape Room by yourself or with some friends, you will be taking part in a narrative driven adventure. They have not actually given a whole lot away about the plot, but we know the main character, Hildegarde is stuck in a place called the Cheshire Institute and a series of dangerous puzzles need to be solved in order to get out of there.
Escaping The First Person
I think that it is pretty neat how Mad Experiments 2: Escape Room is played from the first-person. Most of the games of this style I have played have had more of a point and click style adventure thing about them. The first-person POV is going to make things much more immersive in my opinion and probably also a bit more nerve-wracking as well. The visuals are great, the Cheshire Institute has a kind of creepy and unsettling vibe about it. You can just tell right from the start of the demo that there is something off about this place!
Different Levels Of The Institute
Currently, they have three chapters listed the first chapter of Mad Experiments 2: Escape Room will be set in the library of the institute. Chapter 2 is going to take place in the dorm rooms and chapter 3 will see things move along to the secret room. Each area that the game has you in will require you to solve puzzles in order to get to the next area. You can play this solo or with up to five friends, all working together to get out. You can play this with a 60-minute timer or you can have no timer so you can take your time and get more immersed in the world that they have created here.
Even though they are not exactly giving a ton of details away about Mad Experiments 2: Escape Room, I still think that there is something very appealing about this game. I think the whole mystery aspect of the actual game and them keeping things kind of hush has made me even more intrigued to find out exactly what the heck is going on here! Also, I like the idea of being able to play a game like this with a few of my buddies.
- The setting for the game has a kind of creepy vibe to it
- It is neat how you can also play this in multiplayer
- It supports up to six players
- I like the idea of the mystery story that the game has
- Will there be much replay value here once you have mastered all of the rooms?
- I am not sure if having more players will change the narrative
