If you are looking for some utter demon killing filled madness that pushes the envelope and brings the combat to a whole new level. This game is absolutely fantastic and a complete joy to play from start to finish, I’ll let you know that now. If you are after a game which, has you sprinting through the world and clearing rooms packed with the demon hordes with shotguns and magic alike, you have come to the right place.

Gameplay

This game plays like an upgraded version of the classic Doom and Wolfenstein games and I couldn’t be happier about it. This is a game that rewards movement and has you sprinting around with shotguns, machine guns, magic staffs and more, murdering the mindless hordes that rise at your gates. Project Warlock II thrives on frenetic energy, and has you clearing rooms like a pro early on with its easy-to-learn controls.

If high-octane fun is a box of yours that needs ticking, let Project Warlock II lend you its pen to do so. There is more than one way to play this game, however, as you can take control of multiple different Warlock types who have their own playstyles. Your tools of destruction can be upgraded to make you more dangerous to your foes. The enemies in this game are aggressive and tactical, they swarm, retreat, run, jump, and attack when it best suits them. Making them more than just mindless beasts for you to slaughter.

Visuals

The visuals! Now let’s talk about the visuals. Can we talk about the visuals please, Mac? I’ve been dying to talk about the visuals with you all day, okay? The visuals are absolutely amazing! It has this classic cell-shaded look to it, but it still handles like a brand-new title. There’s something incredibly satisfying about how the combination of movement and the smooth way the world looks, that scratches a very particular itch that you didn’t even know you had. Somehow it gives off the same vibes as the Teardown game, but you’ll need to play both to get what I’m talking about.

The world has been stunningly and painstakingly designed. No matter what stage you’re in or what room you are exploring, you’ll be blown away by its detail and ambience. That’s a good way to describe it; ambience. Everything in this game fits its style and atmosphere in a way that can get boring in other games. Well, I assure you, that is not the case with this title.

The Story

The story of this title is a simple one. You play a Warlocks apprentice, but you wake up to find the Warlock gone and demons swarming the castle. You must take the fight back to these beasts and find out what happened to your master. If this sounds like a grand ol’ time to you, which it should, then you’re in for a treat.
