Underground communists have overthrown the U.S.S.R. in an attempt to destroy the free world. Using the new TU-190 bomber, the rebels are preparing to launch an invincible assault on the United States.

The military group FALCON is called in to annihilate the revolutionaries before they activate this deadly warbird. The impending invasion is on the horizon, and the forces are gathering. The Harrier V is the only hope to thwart rebel attack...

Mission One

Time to launch the first offensive! The enemy fortifications are weak here, so concentrate on powering up your Harrier V war plane. Your main target is a large attack helicopter protecting the outer defenses.

Mission Two

After skillfully defeating the slow attack chopper, move on to the second line of enemy defense in the mountains! The enemy is digging in, and you need to mount a massive ground assault to uproot them.

Mission Three

The main objective of the third mission is to wipe out the rebel's main air squadron. Four attack choppers are protecting the main bomber, so use the speed formation to avoid their deadly cannon fire.

Mission Four

With the rebel's primary air assault cut off, they are attempting to regroup their supplies and ammunition on the ground. Destroy the ground transports, ammunition dumps, and supply houses to suffocate the insurgent forces. Both air and ground support are protecting these vital targets, however, and speed is the essence. The nuclear flame throwing tank is the last line of defense here.

Mission Five

Following the flame tank's defeat, the battle flows to the open sea. Aircraft carriers learned of the Harrier V attack and quickly moved into position along the coastline. Loaded with kamikaze aircraft and missile placements, they plan to end your advancement. The final enemy here is the innovative split bomber. This war machine is capable of splitting in two and firing laser beams between its two halves! Megabombs are a must.

Mission Six

Utterly stunned, the revolutionaries are trying to salvage what is left of their water armada. Numerous hovercrafts and tanks line the aircraft carriers in the hopes to send the Harrier V to a watery demise. Power is a plus while slipping through the hastily erected defenses, so grab all the power ups possible! The gigantic hyper-hovercraft awaits your arrival at the end of the mission. It should pose no problem at all.

Mission Seven

Now the Harrier V has reached the outer reaches of the main rebel complex. The ground forces are the most ruthless yet, and the air support is supreme. This is the hardest level so far, but the real challenge appears in the form of an ultra-advanced stealth bomber! The huge war plane consists of two main parts: the plane and the stealth unit. Destroy the plane and the stealth unit separates and attacks! Can you survive to the end?

This is the latest overhead shooter for the Genesis. You are in the ultimate attack aircraft out to halt an invasion set on total world domination. Use your bombs and cannons to take them out! Lots of power-ups and huge bosses are in this great shooter!

The conversion cart is filled with cool power-ups and advanced equipment that you can add to your flying fortress. The most helpful assets of the added arsenals are the escort ships that help you fight off your enemies. You can position these escorts to take the shots that would normally hit you. They act like a shield if they are positioned in front of your plane. In fact, they can be placed in four different positions all around your ship, and they change your speed with each placement.

Several power icons will be at your disposal and you can pick these up by shooting groups of enemies or weapon storehouses that are found along the way. Collect super-bombs that will annihilate the invaders, but the best advice is to save them for the difficult end of level bosses that you must face after a barrage of enemy firepower. Your goal...to protect your base at all costs!!
