One of the first high-profile Kick-starter gaming projects--crafted by former BioWare developers--is also one of the most eclectic, as this Viking-infused strategy-RPG is a weirdly enjoyable mix of Beowulf, The Oregon Trail Deluxe, and Final Fantasy Tactics. While the Don Bluth-esque hand-drawn art is spectacular (particularly the "Godstones" that mark each new area), the game's humble crowdfunding origins are sometimes apparent, particularly when it comes to the paucity of enemy types, the sometimes-unbalanced leveling and combat, and a fair share of bugs. With two sequels on the horizon, though, I'm curious to see where Stoic takes this concept going forward.
