You wonder if gaming has gone too far when there's a title about organizing houseplants. Urban Jungle's answer to this would be, "Absolutely not!" And quite frankly, I agree. With all the bizarre simulators and outlandish puzzle games on the market, we're overdue for a title that allows players to create a houseplant greenhouse in their cozy apartment.

Urban Jungle hasn't been given a release date yet. However, we've been treated to a playable demo, on which we'll base our initial opinions. So far, the game looks cute, cozy, zen, and pleasant. Let's dive into the Urban Jungle and see if the demo gives out the chill vibes we're looking for in this unique simulator.

The Mighty (Urban) Jungle

We'll have to jump straight into the game's aesthetic value. It's a title about greenery, and looks mean everything, right? Urban Jungle's visuals emit that cozy, zen atmosphere that any player would look for in a relaxed simulation. It's a subtle but diverse color palette, offering all the visual pleasantries of a home shrouded in houseplants.

But, sometimes, it's not enough to look pretty. What about gameplay? Urban Jungle's mechanical base is not to challenge heavily but to offer peace of mind while building your dream greenhouse. All players must do is discover which houseplants look best in the given apartment space, where finding the perfect spot is ultimately satisfying.

However, the core issue with Urban Jungle is that many would quickly find gameplay dull without any challenge presented. Scattering houseplants around your space could satisfy plenty of players for hours. Still, without the sense of accomplishment acknowledged from the game or any way to share achievements, Urban Jungle feels lost.

Let's not take away from the fact that Urban Jungle is a gorgeous game that will appeal to many players looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the modern AAA gaming market. Organizing a greenhouse at home could be satisfying for anybody, even if there's a general lack of purpose within the title. Oh, and let's not forget, there's a cat you can pet for extra comfort!

The Green Green Grass of Home

It's challenging to present an opinion on Urban Jungle. On the one hand, you have a lovely simulator that brings a peaceful, out-of-mind experience that so many players crave. Conversely, your hard work creating a green sanctuary never feels appreciated, and the game lacks achievements or objectives.

But we won't forget that Urban Jungle is still in development, and there's plenty of opportunity to add features and improvements before release. The experience has the vibe of Unpacking, which ultimately turned out to be an indie favorite and continues to be to this day. While there's no release date, plenty of players can look forward to this cozy title.
