The highly anticipated VR game, Wanderer, drops later this month and VR players have a lot to look forward to. Wanderer combines elements from action, strategy, adventure, arcade and puzzle genres of gaming which all come together nicely for a highly exciting and challenging experience for players. If the game were merely released on console or PC it would still be considered a highly enjoyable game, yet because it’s release is through Virtual Reality players get a truly immersive experience which will be sure to have them playing this game for years to come. Throughout Wanderer, you must undergo a journey through time to save the fate of humanity by altering history as we know it. Are you up for the challenge?
Wanderer will test you in more ways than you’re used to, blending elements from a multitude of genres into one game which is as enjoyable as it is challenging. Strategic elements mingled with a tactical and puzzle based system in the game will push players skills to the limits, while also keeping you on your toes through the mind bending time travel and action scenes.
Where this game really looks to make its mark is through its VR display system, where you will be in control of everything your character sees, touches and where they decide to go. With an escape-room style and feel, where you look and how you find potential clues will be uber import in the success of your mission. Similar style VR games such as Hubris can be made into somewhat of a comparison, although until this game drops we won’t know exactly what to expect.
The storyline begins with your character, Asher Neumann, being thrust into the action of this time travel adventure unaware of the full implications of this journey. Finding your grandfather’s apartment is where you begin, and very quickly your character realizes there are mysterious artefacts lost throughout the place.
While there are no natural explanations for how some of the artefacts would have gotten there, once you find the wrist watch that allows you to pass through time and space things quickly become quite clear. Your character is tasked with the difficult job of discovering hidden secrets throughout history in order to prevent the total destruction of human civilization.
Based on what is known about the game as of now, Wanderer is looking like it will be one of the top VR games of the year. The blend of strategy, puzzle, action, adventure and overall an interesting storyline, kudos to the writers. While it is tough to give an accurate scoring of a game pre-release, it is clear to fans that this game has the potential to be an amazing experience for VR pros and noobs alike.
