Battlefield 6 will be released in the Christmas season of 2021. That is the statement of Electronic Arts, as they've offered details concerning the future of the popular action saga. And among the most important, is that the games will also be available for mobile devices, aside from the usual consoles and PC.
The company is developing the largest Battlefield to date, and in the project have joined Criterion and Dice LA, and they’ve been running daily tests so they can polish the game experience and deliver a balanced product to the best of their possibilities.
About the game
Everything you can imagine a fan of the FPS genre loves comes in big in this installment of the series. There are the epic scale combats, the military equipment, the tactic elements, and all the crazy mayhem that can change the game route in the blink of an eye. There are also massive battles with more online players than ever before. All of this also thanks to the power of the new consoles and the most recent technical advances in PC gaming.
Of the little information we have so far, it is confirmed that the scale of the maps is unprecedented, and the possibilities of battle royale battles with up to 128 players are here. This will take the battles to a new level of total chaos and destruction, with more vehicles, guns, and players than ever before.
Setting in history
Among the rumors we have of Battlefield 6, it all seems to point out a change of direction from the last games, and a twist from all the historic battles we've seen in the series. Unlike other entries, this one's not based on past Belic events, and this is why fans point at the possibility of the title being just Battlefield instead of Battlefield 6.
The game is taking a more similar approach to those of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare games, with a setting of about 10 years in the future. There are some futuristic technologies implemented, but it’s mostly similar to the current battlefields. Here you’ll incarnate as a special agent that’s trying to be recruited by the USA and Russia.
About the mobile release, DICE claims they've been working on a prototype of this for years. In collaboration with Industrial Toys, they are designing a completely new experience that will take the war into smartphones and tablets in 2022.
It is a different game than the one they are releasing for consoles and PC, and it will be widely benefited from being on a mobile device. While it is currently in the testing period, great further development is still expected. So we'll have to keep our eyes open for more updates coming up.
Preview: Hoping for a 10/10
It is expected to take the market incredibly, as the developers have been taking their time with this one. All the necessary adjusts are being taken care of, and they've been working hard on getting the game ready for the current console generation. And even with this, the game will also be available for the PS4 and Xbox One, but it will have some limitations.
EA mayor executives have pointed out the special efforts they are putting into this entry of the series. But they've been listening to a lot to the fans and what they are asking for. They've developed an incredible story, characters, action, soundtrack, and more.
