Total Lockdown is an online multiplayer first-person shooter. As the player, you are put into a hive style building where you must move up in floors before the gas fills the floor eventually killing you. However, in the battle royale mode, 99 other players will also be fighting and looting against you in an all-out battle. In a hectic conglomerate of shooting, looting and moving vertically, only one winner will be able to come out victorious
Like many popular shooters of this gaming era, Total Lockdown follows its predecessors by introducing a battle royale mode. 100 players are put into a hive-like structure, trying to reach the top and become the lone survivor. With a multitude of weapons, upgrades, and floors the player is always kept on their toes. Also, the battle royale mode is not the only mode Total Lockdown offers. Total lockdown features a tournament mode where teams can go against another team on a single floor over and over until one team is remaining.
The game sports a more flavorful look similar to games like Overwatch. This is different when compared to the likes of popular battle-royales like Call of Duty: Warzone, and PUBG. Furthermore, your character’s costumes may also be changed with over 18 different costumes you are sure to find an outfit suitable for your style. The graphic style of battle royale could be compared to Fortnite in the sense that it gives a cartoonish and more casual feeling.
Comparing mainly to other battle-royales, the vertical aspect of Total Lockdown puts a spin on the genre as a whole. While other battle-royales have had similar map foundations of jumping out of a plane onto a large map while a circle encloses you, Total Lockdown puts a new spin on the old foundation. PUBG, and Call of Duty: Warzone both have the player jumping out from a plane onto a large map where a circle encloses the player. Along with their heavily serious militant style of graphics, these battle-royales are vastly different from Total Lockdown.
- A new twist on the battle royale genre
- Not large in file size
- Tons of potential
- New concept
- Has two different modes to cater to different needs
- The high price tag at $30 US
- Currently not that much content
- Has a low player base
- Bot’s and Artificial Intelligence need work
Total Lockdown puts a new feature into the beloved battle-royale genre that we have not yet seen. However coming in at a pretty hefty price for what the game currently is, does not make it as worth as it stands. When compared to other highly developed battle-royales Total Lockdown comes up short. If this game were to be priced lower or even free, it would be higher rated. This game still holds a lot of potential, Total Lockdown should be followed for the months to come, maybe new content and updates will boost the game to its maximum potential.
