Culture Shock

Culture Shock is a first-person visual novel from a solo developer with the speaking name kingoflust, where the player starts a new life after his aunt calls. The main character transforms from a redneck to an advanced, sexually liberated city dweller.

Jax of Virginia

Choose a name and incarnate yourself into the main character of the story, an ordinary guy. At the beginning of this game, Jax (the main character) is an ordinary eighteen year old man fresh out of the doors of school. School has never been too much of a challenge for Jax. He has always found common ground with his classmates and teachers. That said, however, Jax wasn't exactly starry-eyed. Jax lived with his father and mother. His mother made him breakfast every morning, and on the weekends he went with his father to a sporting event as a spectator. An ordinary life with no emotional swings or embellishments. Until the end of high school, the life of the main character in the short story Culture Shock could be called unremarkable; the whole town in Virginia lived like that.

Journey to Honolulu

Ordinariness flowed its own stream until it stumbled upon an event that changed everything. An aunt from the city of Honolulu called at Jax's house. Honolulu is a big, modern city with a thriving infrastructure, where all the promising young people from the outback seek to go. Universities, shopping malls, real estate constantly under construction - Honolulu had everything Jax's hometown didn't have. His aunt suggested he pack up his belongings and come with his parents, sell the house, and start a new life together as a family. And Jax had just finished his high school education and should find a warm place in the city.

At the instigation of the velvet voice of the aunt, the whole family (I want to say the Addams Family) moves to Honolulu and begins to get used to the new place:

• Temporarily living in their aunt's giant house
• Seeing the sights
• Jax takes a closer look at the local colleges

Nuances of the story

From this second, the gameplay begins, which assumes that the character's further actions are under the player's control. Jax is you, so your mission is to sleep with an impressive number of girls of different races and types. Thankfully, the developer has done a good job on the blooming bed of girls. For those who are afraid of violations of dogmatic morality, it is better not to play Culture Shock (here even the name speaks for itself), because Jax will make out even with his aunt.

Every game has a dark side. The dark side of Culture Shock is the envious and rival protagonists who try to put sticks in the wheels and hurt the protagonist, don't let them do that.
