Gakuen Handsome

Gakuen Handsome is an adventure game where you play a 17 year old boy that goes by the name of your choice. He is returning to his school after a 7 year absence, and meeting characters new and old to him. The game opens with you starting in a new school, where you quickly find yourself the center of attention from a variety of handsome young males ranging from other students to your own teacher.

Enjoy some Yaoi with Gakuen Handsome

This game is similar to the anime Gakuen Handsome, and also to other Yaoi visual novels such as La Vie en Rose. It’s a very light hearted tale that will entertain you and help pass the time.

As the story progresses, you meet other characters such as your adorable little sister, (who would love to bathe with you naked) and the creepy principal, who would like to see you alone in his office. As the story progresses, you’ll have the opportunity to play through different routes and fall in love with different characters.

A cute boy love visual novel

The scenes are at times hilarious, at times sexy, but are mostly focused on the development of various possible relationships as the story continues. Although the game is about boy love, the sexy scenes are faded out to keep things modest.

Towards the end of the story, things get a little weird in the story line, and even somewhat scary. At one point one of the characters stabs others with their chin, and the mood changes from overall cute to bloody and somewhat scary. The result is usually a blend between funny and scary, helping to lighten even these brief dark moments.

Cheesy graphics

Gakuen Handsome doesn’t have the best artwork, especially compared to other visual novels such as The House in Fata Morgana. Some of the expressions and angles end up looking more like modern art than the anime style it is meant to be, with visibly off proportions.

At one point, the artwork looks like nothing more than a color pencil sketch, at odds with a more detailed school background. If visuals are important to you, you may find Gakuen Handsome disappointing.

No English Version

Right now the game is not available in English, so you will have to brush up on your Japanese if you wish to play. The game isn’t currently available in other languages. If you speak Japanese or are currently studying it this won’t be a problem, but otherwise you may find the game difficult to play.
