The epic conclusion to Kratos’ quest for revenge returns looking better than ever in God of War III Remastered, an upgraded port of the PS3 original. When it came out in 2010, God of War III already was quite the looker for Sony’s aging console. Now, the game features an array of bells and whistles that brings Kratos to life like never before.
The God of War You Know
Remastered offers players the chance to relive the experience of playing Kratos final confrontation with Zeus in glorious HD. Resolution and framerates aside, the content remains the same as it was in the original God of War III.
The story begins immediately after the ending of God of War II, as Kratos continues to wage war against the Greek gods. Allied with a small army of Titans, Kratos climbs Mount Olympus to have his revenge against the Olympians, and settle the score with Zeus once and for all.
The plot progression in God of War III is certainly top-notch. While there might be other character action games that imitate God of War’s formula, like Dante’s Inferno, Sony Santa Monica Studio still has the best storytellers in the business. The sense of scale and epicness on display in the first ten minutes of gameplay alone are unmatched by any other game.
Hack and Slash
God of War III is not a complicated game: the basic combos are easy to pull off, and button mashing is as valid a technique as any. This simplicity allows players to immerse themselves deeper into the plot and also lets them enjoy the flashy gore effects that are constantly on display.
Not even Mortal Kombat can get as violent as God of War III: featuring multiple scenes of blood, gore, and nudity, this is a game that has earned its Mature rating. The over the top violence might be a little too much for some, but there’s no denying that the absurd levels of brutality in God of War III are a stylistic decision to frame the tragic plot of Kratos’ revenge.
In between fights, players will have to solve some basic puzzles that never get too complicated. Besides that, there are also platforming sections that usually feature some fancy camera work to show off the game’s impressive visuals.
A Presentation Masterpiece
Sure, gameplay in God of War III is solid, but the same could be said of Devil May Cry 4, a game that came out two years before it. The difference here is the impressive amount of detail and artistry that the team at Santa Monica Studios was able to fit into a single game.
Visually speaking, the game looks gorgeous: skin textures are amazingly detailed, and so are the lights and shadows that add an incredible amount of depth to every nook and cranny of the game’s world.
Apart from the visuals, the orchestral soundtrack is also some of the best we’ve heard in a videogame. The powerful compositions benefit the action tremendously, making every little moment of the game feel like an epic adventure.
The improvements of the Remastered edition of the game mean that you’ll get to enjoy this visual spectacle in gorgeous 1080p and at 60fps.
The best way to play this classic game, God of War III Remastered takes Kratos’ struggle to the next level, delivering an unparalleled experience that you need to see to believe. Some of the violence might be a bit too much for some, but the overall plot and the pacing make it worth every second of it.

What is at the bottom of the pandora's box, what will happen to the world when all the gods cease to exist and is revenge so important that it destroys all life - the answers to these questions can be found in the action-adventure game - God Of War 3 Remastered.
The War of the Gods
The events of God Of War 2 combined the goals of the Titans and the deposed God of War, Kratos. Titania Gaia and Kratos were climbing to the top of a mountain to exact revenge. However, during the ascent, the gods of Olympus tried in every way to prevent the ancient avengers from ascending. However, Kratos' rage and thirst for revenge help him to destroy in cold blood anyone who dares to stand in the way of the God of War.
What's at the bottom of Pandora's Box?
In the course of his journey Kratos learns that in order to overthrow his father, Zeus, he must find the key to Pandora's Box. The key turns out to be Pandora herself, a little girl imprisoned in Daedalus' labyrinth. Only by sacrificing herself can Pandora give access to the box, inside which is a power capable of killing a god.
New Remastered Version
The Remastered version didn't change the game so much that replaying it again will feel new. What's new in the Remastered version:
- Improved graphics. The 1080p image makes the old models crisper, but leaves its magic on the video artwork, allowing you to feel the difference between the graphics of the past and the Remastered version.
- The frame rate has been increased to 60 frames per second. The movements of Kratos and his enemies are smoother and more enjoyable to play.
- Ancient gods can now be photographed in the heat of battle. New photo mode allows you to show the world how you play God Of War 3 Remastered.
This new version improves the game's visuals, only because God Of War 3 was originally a good game with lots of epics, blood and huge enemies. It is the large-scale boss battles, special atmosphere of ancient Greece and brutality of Kratos that brought so much popularity to the game.
Feel like a divine decider, but in a new quality resolution. Use your camera to capture the bloodiest moments or the funniest lags. Become a God of pictures and good quality with the new version of the famous divine epic - God Of War 3 Remastered.
