Hell Architect: Prologue

Hell Architect: Prologue is a colony sim where you play as the manager of hell. It’s silly, surprisingly intricate, and full of cartoon violence and gore, so if that sounds like something you’d enjoy then give this game a shot! There’s plenty of fun to be had, as cruel as that may sound. Let me tell you a bit more about the game’s features.

Building up your hell

Hell Architect is very similar to Prison Architect, in that you get to build and manage a huge environment. Alongside torture devices (which I’ll talk more about in a bit), you’ll need a bunch of other things in your hell to take care of your sinners. This includes toilets, beds, and places to eat. Ultimately, you don’t have to provide any of these things for your sinners if you don’t want to, but it may make it more difficult for you to gather resources and progress in the game.

Once you develop your first few buildings, you’ll be able to upgrade them down the line, assuming you collect enough building materials. Upgrades will help your sinners to work more efficiently, so they’re definitely worth investing in.

The different kinds of torture devices

As mentioned, Hell Architect features torture devices for your sinners, and there are so many different ones that you can build. From never-ending onion-cutting stations to deadly catapults, all of the contraptions have funny and unique animations associated with them that are sure to make you laugh. Be sure to upgrade your contraptions as you play the game, too, as you’ll gain extra points which you’ll be able to use to unlock special features later on.

Special characters

Once you progress far enough in the game, you'll gain access to special characters that exhibit different behaviors compared to the standard sinners. I won't spoil too much here, but just know that Hitler is one of the unlockable characters, so you know the rest of them are going to be just as evil and well-known.

Cute yet terrifying graphics

Lastly, let me talk about the art style, which is cute yet terrifying at the same time. What I mean by this is that the characters are cute at first, but once you subject them to various forms of suffering in your hell, things get gory fast.
