JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Records

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Records is a 3D mobile action game based on the manga and anime series, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. It was published by Bandai Namco Games in 2017 and released for free on IOS and Android in Japan. While it is free, there are in-game items available for purchase.

The game offers both single-player and online multiplayer. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Records is very similar to other anime fighting games, such as Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle, and even other normal fighting games, such as Mortal Kombat X Mobile.

Gameplay

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Records follows the series’ anime adaptation. It contains content from the first five parts of the series: Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders, Diamond Is Unbreakable, and Golden Wind. Players fight against other characters from the anime, including enemies from each part of the series, such as Vampires, Zombies, and Nazis. The main character being used fights against a large number of opponents in a 3D arena based on different locations from the anime series.

The characters used are ‘statues’, in-game characters from the series that each have different health (HP), attack (ATK), and defense (DEF). Each figure has a maximum level of 99 and a rarity value ranging from 3-star rarity to 6-star rarity. Unlocking the same statue twice combines their stats together to make a stronger character. The characters can be organized into teams of three to battle with. Each character also has their own ‘Growth Tree’, which allows them to upgrade stats and unlock new skills.

Knocking out different opponents fills a gauge at the bottom of the screen. Once the gauge is completely filled, the character can activate ‘DoDoDo Mode’. In this mode, the statue’s abilities are temporarily increased. Its maximum length is dependent on the statue’s star rarity.

My Town

The game features a system where up to 15 players can join a ‘My Town’ team, which can either be joined through public registration or a private request. Together, they can participate in different town events and join chat rooms. In their own town, players can battle against enemies in quests to unlock both team and individual player rewards.

Quests

The main game mode features different quests from the anime series. Each quest has three different objectives that grant you different rewards upon completion. Apart from the main story quests, there are also daily quests and special event quests. Upon completing daily quests, players receive various new items and materials. Additionally, through special event quests, players can defeat enemies for special rewards. These rewards can then be exchanged for other items, such as Diamond coins and other upgrades.

Overall, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Records offers its players loads of fun and content. Being a mobile game also allows players to play at any time they want to, whether it be at home or on the go. The game includes a very lengthy single-player story mode, which allows players to complete quests and earn rewards. There are also daily quests and special quests to gain even more rewards. The online multiplayer also provides great fun for players, as they can play with other people across the world. While the gameplay was very good, one major flaw the game had was that it did not run well. Many players claimed that the game often ran slow, while others said that the game randomly crashed.
