Don't think that Acclaim's forgotten about PlayStation-owning shooter fans. There's another Taito-developed game in the wings, ready to be unleashed on the public. Known in Japan as Zeitgeist, it's been renamed Jupiter Strike for American release. Game purists take note:The only thing that's been changed here is the name. You'll be getting the full Japanese experience, whether you like it or not. Woo-hoo!
It all begins in the near future. Earth is being attacked by an unnamed (but suitably nasty) alien army, and, as is often the case, YOU are the Earth's only hope for salvation. This situation is made rather more desperate by the fact that YOU couldn't fly a spaceship if your life depended upon it. Actually, come to think of it, your life does depend on it, as do the lives of billions of humans Jupiter Strike's third-person view may remind you of games like Crystal Dynamics' Total Eclipse, but it's definitely its own garijfe with its own unique personality. Unlike many shooters that feature third-person views Jupiter Strike allows you to switch tq a first-person perspective. In addition to that, the game featuresisumptuous 3-D graphics, pumping sound, multiple including a lock-on laser) and cool cinemas that it what the hell is going on. Yahoo!

Acclaim will be releasing this intense shooter for the PlayStation. Jupiter Strike is a cross between Panzer Dragoon and StarFox. It is primarily a shooter, with you flying through waves of enemy ships. One interesting point is that you can lock on groups of targets and let loose a stream of deadly missiles. (Think Panzer!) Jupiter Strike is fast-paced and very detailed.
For a change of pace, play from either behind your ship, a la StarFox. or from inside the cockpit. No matter what you pick, you're in for a tough fight. Huge Bosses and plenty of enemies make this game hard.
