LEGO Jurassic World
The LEGO games have usually been successful these past years. They recreate the scenes from movies with LEGO characters and more realistic scenarios. After the release of Jurassic World, TT Games and Warner Bros. worked together to bring the movie experience into a game. LEGO Jurassic World is available for pretty much any device you can game on, so let's talk about it.
About the game
There isn't much to say about these LEGO games. Most of them take the content they are based on and adapt it into comic childish situations. But there's one thing special about this one. LEGO Jurassic World isn't limited to the movie by the same name, but it also covers up all the 3 previous movies of the franchise.
The plot is the same as the movies, with extra missions to add on to the game and unlockable scenarios. One of the strongest features in this title, as in any LEGO game, is the multiplayer aspect of it. Nowadays not that many games allow two players to cooperate on the same console to beat the game. But these titles are perfect for this.
Not only does the game feature a Co-op mode, but it has many advantages playing it this way. The pick and play mechanic makes it very flexible for a second player to join and leave the game whenever they want.
Your average LEGO game?
Unlike the first entries in the series, this title uses the mechanics first implemented in LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. An open world with a linear adventure. While the main story mode is always linear, there are plenty of secondary objectives located around a world you're free to explore.
You'll have to unlock some areas, but it's still open enough. However, in the LEGO Batman 2 game, there's an original story, and the different abilities between characters are more notable.
The LEGO games started out really strong, and they have been constantly releasing new titles. Currently, they are not only adapting content but developing original LEGO stories.
In LEGO Jurassic World they tried to adapt a whole franchise of four movies into one game, and in the end, it didn't work out that well. Not only because it becomes very repetitive, but it also leaves out some cool moments of the movies. They took care of recreating the most iconic scenes though.
With all and all, LEGO Jurassic World represents a cool experience, especially for the younger or the most nostalgic ones. And it let us play as a dinosaur, which is always something positive to say about any game.
Graphics and Visuals: The art style in this title is as strong as ever in the series. The LEGO looks great and the animations are funny and fluid. The world is vivid and colorful, and the dinosaurs look great.
Gameplay: Most LEGO games feel similar, and this one is no exception to that. Simple mayhem here and a little sandbox there. It's nothing new, but the local multiplayer is a nice feature.
Sound: It uses most of the original source-material soundtracks, which in this case is amazing. And it also has some more cartoony themes added that fit perfectly the game
