Monorail Stories

In this casual adventure game, you follow the lives of two different characters with one thing in common. Both of these characters ride on the same monorail every day to get where they need to go. Mono Rail Stories is unique because although both of these characters are critical to the game, they never meet. Instead, the decisions you make playing one character will affect the others in profound ways. The game takes this a step farther through a branching story mode where the ending for one character may be completely different based on the actions of the other.

If you’ve played the steam game Frank and Drake, imagine a pixelated and more indirect version of the game and you’ll have a good idea of what Monorail Stories is about.

Multiplayer Available

An interesting feature of this game is that multiplayer modes will be available. Players can work together in a kind of round-robin, telling a story where each persons turn changes what happens to the next person. The plan is for regular updates to be added to the multiplayer option, so it continues to be fresh and viable for years to come. The game also has a season story mode, which offers different storylines based on what time of year it is.

Flexibility in gameplay

As much as a story-based game can, there is a lot of flexibility in how you play the game. There are people on the monorail you will find are your friends after a few days of travel. You can interact with them—or not—and whether you do or not can have an effect on the game. It’s entirely up to you what you do in your story.

Marco Dotti is a popular gaming artist who has worked on several familiar titles in the past. You may know his work from games like the Witch-King of Angmar and Diablo Immortal. When creating the art for Mono Rail Stories he found the pixel style to be new to him, but quickly got the hang of it and created a unique world with slight steam punk vibes.

Kickstarter Success

Before Mono Rails developed into the original story that it is, it was just a dream for the developers. To raise the money for success they asked for help crowdfunding it from Kickstarter. Their original goals was €5,000 but they soared well over that goal reaching €8000 with over 300 backers. This is a tribute to the potential of this game, and how exciting it is for the release.
