In Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2, our favorite hero from arcade games of the past comes to life in 3D. If you are looking for a game that is safe to play with your kids, look no farther than this fresh new look at an old classic. In this game, Pac Man and his friends must defeat Lord Betrayus, a villain who has taken over PacWorld. Players will need to travel from Pacopolis all the way to Paclantis in an effort to stop him. This underwater world will be the backdrop for all your adventures as you seek to set things right once more.

5 different worlds to explore

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 provides 5 worlds to play in, with 10-20 levels in each. These levels are in a 3D platformer style and use controls that feel a lot like the original Pac-man game.

Classic sounds from the first game also give Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 a retro feel that classic players will love. The game also offers something new though, on some levels you can play pacman’s friends, including Spiral and Cyli. These games also give you fun, unique ways to play such as obstacle courses or riding Cyli’s pink rocket skater.

Repetitive

Although kids may love the fun of gobbling up enemies and listening to the “wakka-wakka!” sound when ever you successfully capture an enemy, over the course of so many levels it gets repetitive. There is only so much you can do with just one simple movement and trading out for new characters does not happen enough to break it up.

Sometimes hard to control

With its bright colors and simple 3D graphics, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 appears to be mainly directed at children. It has the same look and feel as other arcade classics that made the transition to 3D, such as Sonic the hedgehog in Sonic 3D Blast.

Unfortunately, some aspects of the game may make it frustrating for both kids and adults to play. When using the special ability chameleon for example, if you are not directly under the object you’re trying to use your chameleon tongue on, you miss it. This can get very frustrating.

Another challenging aspect to the game is that there are no guiding arrows to help direct you on where to go. The walls of the game are also invisible, and the camera angle cannot be controlled, so you may get lost or crash into walls while trying to play.
