Rainbow Six Siege Operation Blood Orchid
Rainbow Six Siege Operation Blood Orchid so far is one of my favorite expansions that Rainbow Six Siege has had. I am all in with this game, by the way, I usually end up getting most of the operators and just when I think I am out… the game pulls me back in. Today though I am talking about Blood Orchid which was released back in 2017 and was the sixth expansion than Siege received.
Welcome To Siege Park!
Before I get to the new operators, I have to talk about the map that was introduced as part of Rainbow Six Siege Operation Blood Orchid. The theme park map (which was later reworked a bit) was such a fun map and one that I often got killed on because I was looking at all the details of this kind of creepy amusement park.
There are some great places to plan attacks here, but I really have a lot of fun here playing a more run and gun style which is not usually my style when playing Siege in all honesty with you.
Who Are You?
One of the things that really drove me wild about this expansion to Siege was that we did not get just two new operators, we actually got three! The Special Duties Unit got two new operators in Ying and Lesion. I much prefer playing as Ying by the way as I find her a lot of fun to play as and I really do feel like I am helping my team out more than just playing for myself. On the GROM side of things, we have Ela who I have spent a ton of time with. Her sticky bombs that you can throw as just so much fun to use and make her a very dangerous character in the right hands.
Anything Else New?
Like with all other expansions, Blood Orchid gave us more guns to wage war with. The Special Duties Unit would get a further five guns to make use of. The GROM would get another three guns. I think that getting eight new guns to use is a nice amount. You can get to know each weapon here, having more, in theory, sounds great, but would you ever actually use them all?
Blood Orchid also gave attackers the ability to use both of their drones at the same time which was something I thought was pretty cool.
In all, I think that Rainbow Six Siege Operation Blood Orchid is a really fun expansion and one of my favorites. The Theme Park map was just flat out awesome and a great time and one of my all-time favorite maps actually. While I was not super into Lesion, I thought that Ying and especially Ela were two great additions to the game. Ela remains a firm favorite of mine to this day. I already love what Ubisoft had done with the previous expansions, but this one here remains a firm favorite of mine.
