Are you ready for some motion sickness? Redoubt by 43BigThings srl is here to deliver. A tribute to the classic racers, Redout is an uncompromisingly fast racer that pushes your focus to the edge and beyond.

Gameplay

This game is hard, fast and very true to its style. If you are after some racing done at blinding speeds then this is for you. An arcade racer with vehicles that are based on a floating system, the models all adhere to physics as each turn, slope, hard break or acceleration apply a unique force to the vehicle.

There are 11 different even types from classic Race to arena race and some score based endurance style races too. A brilliant amount of gameplay is offered to the player and you cannot help yourself but snatch it all up as you blast through these tracks.

With 25 different tracks and over 100 race events, you will enjoy a great deal of gameplay that’ll keep you engaged for hours at a time. Based on the old classics like F-Zero, WipeOut, Rollcage and POD, this will be a nostalgia trip for the ages. Interestingly, this game also provides VR support and it is crazy. It does add a hilarious amount of engagement to the player and makes you feel a bit like you’re there, if you got one of these matched up to a pneumatic rig that emulates the twists and turns it would be out of this world.

Art Style

With the Unreal Engine 4 in use, this game is absolutely stunning. Blended meshes and terrains with the latest state-of-the-art shading and lighting effects all supplied by sharp low-polygon style gives the game an unmistakable glossy sheen that I can’t stop thinking about.

The ships aren’t the only things that are stun as the beautiful aesthetics of breezy coastlines, frozen landscapes and desert plains keep you engaged with every turn. The games ability to show the mad frenetic energy that the racing is comprised of is truly breathtaking.

Multiplayer

Challenge up to 12 players from around the world and put your skills to the test as you find out who’s got what it takes to be the best. Games like this truly benefit from multiplayer and now you can jump into a session with a friend and watch them struggle with the blinding speed.

Soundtrack

I would be remiss not to mention the soundtrack. Redoubt offers incredible sound design with a fantastic soundtrack that matches the fast paces and dystopian techno aesthetic.

Music comprised of synths and hard beats will accompany you from the opening menu all the way through the tracks to the finish line, keeping you motivated for every turn. I am a huge fan of the games that this one was based on and every part of the soundtrack feels like a perfect mix of nostalgia and improvement.
