Shantae is a 2D pixel platformer for the GameBoy Color from the developers at WayForward Technologies.
Plot
Shantae is a pretty girl-jinn who lives in the small village of Scuttle Town. The locals are fishing, and one day they were lucky enough to get a chest from the bottom of the sea. In it were a lot of gold coins and precious stones. But the pirates had found out about the treasure! Their leader, Risky Boots, is going to take the money from the poor fishermen. Only the brave Shantae can save everyone from danger!
Gameplay
Shantae fights with her hair, aptly directing a thick scythe to strike enemies. She also uses music, endowing her dance moves with powerful power. As for the animation, it can be compared to the Earthworm Jim, Aladdin, and Pokemon series.
The series of 5 Shantae games has been in release for 20 years, and the latest game is called Shantae and the Seven Sirens.
Pros:
- The cute main character
- Positive electronic music
