WARRIORS OROCHI 3: Ultimate Definitive Edition is a very fast-paced, hack and slash titles that provide frantic action for all players. Released on the 12th of July, the game offers a larger variety of characters and a crossover between two legendary franchises.

Dynasties and Samurais

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is a continuation of the hack and slash game Warriors Orochi 3, a crossover between Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors. The game itself is a tweaked port of the previous release on the PS3/Xbox 360 with new content, including new characters and stages.

The story is essentially the same as in the original version and its sequels, Ultimate and Hyper, with a few additional character interactions. The main conflict is that Orochi has merged the Three Kingdoms era and the Warring States era into one chaotic timeline that our heroes must traverse to restore order.

In this installment of WARRIORS OROCHI 3: Ultimate Definitive Edition, a new gameplay feature that was not in previous games is the "Crossover" system, where you can bring multiple characters and inspirations from other franchises like Zelda or Final Fantasy into your party at once. This added element to the game allows for a whole new way of playing and gives players an opportunity to try out different combinations of characters they may not have had before.

A Worthy Addition

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate will include all of the playable characters from within Warriors Orochi 3 along with some new additions, such as Zeus, who has been added to make up for Koei’s removal of Odin from this version due to copyright issues (although he still exists in other games). There are also two new stages: Mount Olympus - where you can fight against an Athena-like goddess named “Athena Exclamation Point!”; and Cloud Nine - a floating island above the clouds inhabited by deities who have high HP levels but low attack power.

You might be surprised at how many characters are in this game (over 120). Still, there are definitely some standout names that make it feel like a dream crossover come to life, including Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden), Achilles (Warriors: Legends of Troy), Joan of Arc (Bladestorm), Nemea (Dynasty Warriors 8), Okuni (Samurai Warriors 2), Kasumi (Dead or Alive) and many more.

While these series have similar mechanics at their core, each has some unique features that make them appealing in its own way. It will take a little time to adjust to your style, shifting from Samurai Warriors-style combos to Dynasty Warriors-style combos, but before you know it, you'll be button-mashing away like a seasoned pro.

This is a great game for those looking for the fast-paced, frantic, non-stop action that made the series so famous. Fans of games like Samurai Warriors, Dynasty Warriors, No More Heroes and Devil May Cry will certainly enjoy this game.
