Kamen Rider: Battride War

Millions and millions of people all over the world grew up with this kind of show, whether you saw the original Kamen Rider or the Power Rangers versions, we all know and love them. They’ve inspired dozens, and maybe even hundreds of video games throughout all the generations of gaming. Today we’ll talk about a game released in 2013, Kamen Rider: Battride War, the first installment of what would become the Battride War franchise. It features all the Heisei Era riders, even up until Wizard. But how is this game? What's it all about? Well, let's talk about it.

About the game

The game is considered a hack n slash game, but it also combines mechanics of the beat 'em up genre and musou games. You get to choose among most of the characters available at the Heisei Riders and use all their abilities to go through wave after wave of enemies. Clear out levels, accomplish objectives, save civilians, and much more.

The game features three game modes, the first being the main one called Chronicle Mode. This is pretty much the story mode of the game, and it has the player helping the Riders to regain their memories by playing moments of their respective season and series. This is also great as it allows the player the opportunity to take part in some of the most iconic moments of the show.

After you complete the missions there is a boss battle you have to complete, and these are directly based on the show. After you defeat them you earn ability points you can use to level up your Raider, not to mention that you can choose and customize the abilities of your rider before going into the missions.

In the Free Mission mode, you can replay any of the completed missions with whichever Rider you have already unlocked. This way you can also get collectibles and unlock more points. And the third game mode is the Rider Road Mode, which is what you'd consider a survival mode. The game will give you three missions and you'll need to accomplish them without dying, there are no healing items, and the difficulty is significantly harder than usual.

A solid experience

When you compare one of these games that are similar to Dynasty Warriors and all the other Warriors game franchises, there are some solid differences. The moveset is much expanded, and the enemies are more varied than usual, which is why it becomes less repetitive and more entertaining than many of the other musou games.
