Football Manager 2017 is a very immersive football management simulation game. There aren’t many differences in the two games, and this game is instantly recognizable for people who played the other one. There are some cool new features, however.
Customization
This game is a sequel to Football Manager 2016. In this game, you are given free reign over the customization of the team in many ways. You can adjust the coaching and mental attributes of the head coach, you can scout for new players, adjust salaries and fees of your players, and more. You can manage the tactics for the team, and give your team instructions in an interactive interface.
Replays
When watching the results of your games, you get a lot of freedom too. You can watch only some highlights or watch through the whole game depending on how fast you want it to go. I recommend highlights because I don’t like spending that much time watching the entire game.
Rating
You really can customize pretty much anything in this game. It is also very exciting when you make an adjustment and see something change with your team. Seeing the strategies work out is very fun, but the fails can be fun too. This is the part of the game that could be better. I don’t know if they should allow the player to control one of their players like in a Madden game, but something should be done to this. It gets boring fairly quickly unless you are only watching a few highlights.
This game is a sequel to Football Manager 2016. There aren’t many differences in the two games, and this game is instantly recognizable for people who played the other one, but there are some cool new features. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend upgrading from Football Manager 2016 at full price. However, it is a fun game, and if you haven’t tried the series out, it’s not a bad place to start.
Pros:
- You can customize pretty much anything
- It’s satisfying to find tactics that work very well
- You can make your team look very cool
Cons:
- This game is a simulator, so the gameplay is basically just customization
- It gets really boring to watch the matches
- It doesn’t have a lot of new features over the last game.
