Hidden Cats in Paris

Hidden Cats in Paris is a charming hidden object game that is actually the third (well I think it is the third) in this series of hidden object games about finding cats. At the end of the day, this game costs you like under a buck and I would say that I well and truly got my moneys worth out of this as I was entertained while I played it. I will say that it is lacking in content compared to the two games that came before it, but I still enjoyed my time with this one and if you want some budget priced, hidden object game goodness, you can do a hell of a lot worse than this game here.

Following What Came Before It

Before we had Hidden Cats in Paris, we had Hidden Cats In London and Hidden Cats in New York and the premise here is exactly the same. You are tasked with finding over 100 hidden casts that are spread around Paris. It is the kind of thing that has a very relaxing kind of vibe, but at the same time, it can drive you crazy as you franticly move around the image to try and find the last few cats that are just not popping out at you. If you liked those two previous games then without a shadow of a doubt, you are going to enjoy your time with this game.

The Magic Of Paris

I think I prefer the setting of Paris in Hidden Cats in Paris over New York and London, nothing against those two cities, I just think that Paris here has a bit more charm to it, but I am fully aware this is a personal preference. Like the two previous games, we have a fantastic and lovely drawing of Paris that we have to scroll around. There are so many little details here and the way that there is a bit of motion thanks to that hot air balloon, makes looking around and keeping focused that extra bit tricky. As you find the cats, a watercolor like affect is added to the image which really brings it to life.

Keeping It Simple

As Hidden Cats in Paris is a hidden object game intended for anyone to be able to play, the game is very simple. You move around the image with your mouse and many cats will be very easily noticeable and you just click on them and they are done. However, the game is rather tricky and the artist has done a wonderful job of hiding cats around this image as well as moving from left to right, you can use your mouse wheel to zoom in on the image, this is what I do when I get really stuck, I zoom in and carefully move from left to right and try to cover ever part of the image.

Hey, Where Is My Extra Content?

I would have to say that Hidden Cats in Paris is very much a one and done kind of game. That on the surface is fine, but the two previous games, Hidden Cats in London and Hidden Cats in New York offered extra content. These had an advanced mode that randomized things and offered even harder to find cats which gave the games a lot more replay value. With this game, once you have found the last cat, that is pretty much it. I am not sure why they did not put the advanced mode in here, perhaps it will come at a later date? Although, as I write this, the game has been out for over a year.

Pros:

• The game is great value for money
• I loved the Paris setting
• Finding some of these cats is very, very challenging, but also fun
• The game has a lot of charm about it

Cons:

• There is no advanced mode here like the last games
• Once you have found all the casts, there is nothing to do
