The act of dancing is almost as old as humanity itself. It is a manifestation of self-expression and representation that has also become an excellent form of exercise and even a sport in some circles. The fun and excitement of dancing have also been boiled down into video games like Just Dance 3.
Developed by Ubisoft Paris and published by Ubisoft, Just Dance 3 is a motion-based dancing game that features a massive list of popular songs along with original choreography to follow for each one. Are you an aspiring professional dancer or someone who just likes to goof around? Either way, here is everything you need to know about just Dance 3, a game that will get you moving and grooving.
The Just Dance series has become something of a cultural phenomenon since its introduction. The game’s style and presentation are instantly recognizable and super accessible even for new players. You’ll select a song from a list and then follow along with the movements of a white silhouette that is usually dressed in some kind of wacky costume or something that is relevant to the song you are performing.
This deft delivery of information to the player makes Just Dance 3 fun for players of all ages and backgrounds, much more so than its nearest competitor, which would be something like Dance Dance Revolution.
So Many Songs
As you mirror the movements of your in-game instructor, you will experience dances for over 50 different songs. These songs are mostly comprised of modern hits, but there are also some classics thrown in there for good measure. You’ll dance to the likes of The Black Eyed Peas “Pump It” as well as “Take On Me” by a-ha.
To earn high scores, you need to mirror those movements exactly and earn stars that will unlock more songs for you. It will start off easy with some lighter songs, but before you know it, you’ll be dancing at lightning speed and shooting for full marks.
Just Dance 3 features the Solo and Duet modes that were present in previous games, but it also has the brand new Crew Mode, where up to 4 players can all dance at the same time. That’s a lot of players, but what is even crazier is that each of those four players will have their own unique choreography to complete.
The challenge of keeping up with 3 other players is pretty intense, but it is also massively fun and excellently implemented. This makes Just Dance 3 the de facto party game in many households, where families can gather, dance, and act silly together to bond and have fun. What could be better than that?
- Huge list of songs that consist of classics and new songs
- Intricate choreography for each and every song
- Intense new Crew Mode multiplayer option
- Advanced motion control implementation
- Also counts as exercise!

- Those without rhythm might find the game more difficult than others
