For fans of grand strategy games, Knights of Honor 2: Sovereign is probably the biggest thing coming. What I like about what they are trying to do here is that this is a very deep strategy game with some epic RTS style combat and it certainly has a great deal of mechanics to the gameplay. However, the developer is also stating that this is going to be accessible as well so this could be the game for those who have always wanted to play a grand strategy game to try out.

Taking Over Europe!

The goal of Knights of Honor 2: Sovereign is to lead as a king and take over Europe and make sure your kingdom is the one that thrives. Anyone who loves a bit of history in their games is sure to get a real kick out of the way that the story will unfold in the epic campaign that this game has in store for you.

The Life Of A King!

As this is a grand strategy kind of game, Knights of Honor 2: Sovereign has a lot for you to do. You will have to make sure that your own people are well taking care of so that they are happy. However, managing your army, being diplomatic with other nations, and even waging war and defending your land are all things that you are going to have to contend with as you stake your claim to Europe.

Your Royal Court

I mentioned before about how the developer stated that they see this as being an accessible kind of grand strategy game. One of the ways that I feel they have gone about this is by allowing you to have a royal court of various people. You can have clerics, marshals, diplomats, merchants, and even spies. You can then delegate stuff to these people to help your kingdom grow. I am very excited about this aspect of the game, to be honest with you as I think it is going to be a lot of fun.

Never Wait To Take Your Turn

While the battles in Knights of Honor 2: Sovereign are going to be RTS style battles and they look awesome. This is one of the faster paced grand strategy games that I have seen in quite some time. There are “no turns needed” is what they say so you have to keep moving forward as any lulls and another nation may decide to try and invade! There are many units, abilities, strategies, and so on that, you can implement when you do get into a skirmish with another nation.

I know that some people cannot get into grand strategy games, but I think that Knights of Honor 2: Sovereign is trying to walk that fine line of being a game that is going to be great for fans of this style of game as well as those new to the genre. The idea of being a king and having to rule, take care of your people, and also make sure that your nation expands is something I am sure is going to be a whole lot of fun! This is one game that you strategy fans need to keep a real close eye on.

Pros:

You get to play as a King in Europe
You can invade and take over other nations
The gameplay is very deep and there is a lot for you to do
They are trying to make this game more accessible so everyone can enjoy it

Cons:

As I write this, we still do not have a full release date for the game
Even though they are trying to make it accessible, I am sure it will still be a game with a rather steep learning curve
