Racing fans will feel their heartbeat accelerate a little at the promise of NASCAR 21: Ignition, the latest racing game produced by Motorsport Games. Although the game has not been released yet, it offers an exciting sneak preview at what the game will be like. Due to the large number of racing games already out there, NASCAR 21: Ignition needs to bring something pretty exciting to the table to get the attention of racing fans.
Incredible Graphics
The preview of NASCAR 21: Ignition shows off crisp, clear graphics with plenty of detail work in the cars and even backgrounds. Although they don’t quite look true to life, especially when compared to the graphics in games like GT Sport, it’s a lot crisper than other racing games that often have muddied backgrounds and simple cars.
Details are there down to wrinkles in the clothing of the NPC’s helping you, all the way down to careful lighting and beautiful grass in the ditches beside the asphalt. The level of detail is very well done, and help makes for a more enjoyable experience overall.
According to the developer’s Dev Diary, the team even went to the actual track the NASCAR World Cup was held at to take scans and get as many real-life details as possible for the game. You can see it yourself in their Dev Diary, as well as hear their side of the adventure of collecting these details.
Immersive Gameplay
The goal of NASCAR 21: Ignition is to recreate the NASCAR World Cup in every breathtaking detail. This is shown in everything from getting to watch from the cockpit as your team pushes you, to detailed views of the race during gameplay.
The preview also offers a brief glimpse of what it’s like to go around the track in the game. The sounds and visuals are very realistic, making you feel as if you are truly in the driver’s seat as you struggle to overtake the next car. The sounds themselves are perhaps the most incredibly detailed. Many racing games have engine sounds and driving sounds, but they don’t take it to quite the same detail as NASCAR 21: Ignition. In the demo you can hear tiny details that normally wouldn’t be added to the game.
As an example, you can hear the cars approaching you, and if they pass, the turbulence of the air as the car passes can also be heard. This really adds to the ambience of the game and pushes NASCAR 21: Ignition one step closer to being truly there.
With so many racing games out there, it’s easy to think you have seen and done it all when it comes down to racing games. NASCAR 21: Ignition proves there is still room for growth in this crowded field. If you want to climb into the driver’s seat and feel like you are really running a race ,this game could be one of the most exciting race games of the year.
