We know for a fact that the original Strider ranks among many gamers as one of their all-time favorite arcade titles. While the subsequent Genesis and PC Engine ports were decent (for the time), we were never treated to an enthusiast 100% conversion...until now that is. The news gets even better. Capcom has recently announced they will bringing this Strider package stateside, intact with both Strider 1 and 2! For those of you who haven't had the chance to get hands-on with Strider 2 in the arcade, it's a 2D/3D hybrid with new twists on Strider's gameplay. The "upgrade" experience is comparable to R-Type Delta, where many of the stages are beefed-up 3D versions of the original. The only nitpick we have with Strider 1 is that you have to put up with load times. Strider 1 & 2 is out now in Japan.
