Sweet Transit

If you’ve ever been to a city with a great transit system, you know the pure bliss of being able to get around without a car. Sweet Transit puts you in charge of the railway system, having you grow not just a city, but the means of getting around it. In Sweet Transit, trains are in fact the only way to get around. In order to make the city thrive, you’ll have to think carefully about where you lay your lines, and make adjustments to keep traffic flowing.

Decent graphics

City building games like Sweet Transit aren’t known for their graphics, but Sweet Transit does a remarkably good job. The animations are smooth and flowing, there are minor details in the background, and the buildings are about on par with games like Civilization.

While these aren’t absolutely breathtaking graphics, for the style of the game they are very well done.

Extremely Customizable

The game starts you off with a single warehouse, but otherwise simply lets you grow as you please. You can connect the city using a variety of different ways, including platforms and stations. You’ll benefit the most from fitting your cities and rails to the lay of the land, so you’re not wasting resources trying to push trains over hills.

The maps are very expansive and give you huge amounts of room to work in. There’s no shortage of space if your warehouse lands in a bad area and you need to send a rail somewhere else to get things started. It’s management style is somewhat similar to Railroad Tycoon, but without the scenarios of great railways of the past.

Keeping People Happy

The people living in your city all get tired as they work. At the minimum they need food, water and shelter to maintain their happiness and keep them willing to work. If your people are unhappy, they won’t work as well. Needs some work

The game is currently available for demo, but there’s still work that needs to be done. The game offers a tutorial in the way of onscreen prompts that guide you through what to do, but these aren’t quite detailed enough for the complexity of the game.

At this time, you are left clicking around randomly for the most part, hoping to stumble on how the game works. Hopefully, this will be fixed by the time the game comes out at the end of July.
