Some very modern game studios have been growing exponentially without many people even noticing. This is for many reasons, one of them being that the studio is subdivided into many branches in a root company. Tencent is one of these studios, and it's actually one of the biggest game companies in the world right now. The game we're talking about today is developed by one of its branch studios called NExT Studios, one centered in the occidental game market. Synced: Off-Planet is a game that's sure to check many boxes for a lot of gamers. But what is this game all about? Is it for you? Well, let's talk about it!

About the game

Some video games are focused on PvP, others are more dedicated to PvE and there are also those that opt for a mixture of both, as will be the case of Synced: Off-Planet, the third-person sci-fi shooter that was officially announced a few years ago with development by NExT Studios. The action is set in a post-apocalyptic future in which technology was supposed to help humanity move forward, but instead evolved in a fateful way that no one was counting on.

This led to the appearance of new zombie-like creatures that devastate everything in their path, so players must ally with each other to finish them all off. However, resources are very limited, so your comrade in arms can also end up being your enemy when you least expect it in order to survive at all costs.

The battles will take place in scenarios that will use ray-tracing technology to make everything look even more realistic while the survivors do their best to hold on until they manage to escape in an evacuation ship that will take them to safety.

A familiar gameplay

At the gameplay level, the game inevitably reminds us of The Division 2 (even in the floating interface). There is a clear focus on cover gameplay, especially to face up to 50 players that are intended to be on each of its maps. Survival however is not as simple as in similar games, so the emphasis on taking cover as long as possible is quite real. It even incorporates the mechanics of shooting, with quite similar animations.

One of the distinctive features of this development is that, as its title indicates, our surviving character will have the ability to synchronize with the horde through nodes scattered around the stage or dropped by the enemies when we finish them by shooting at their weak point. This gives us the ability to control a limited group of enemies and use them to our advantage, which opens up the range of tactical options by having to combine action and strategy to capture certain areas of the battlefield through the enemies that are there.
