JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R

When it comes to fighting games, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is right at the top of my list of fighting games I am excited about this year. This is a remaster of a game that was released many years ago and it was awesome back then and this remaster looks like it is going to be even better. I first experienced this series back on the Dreamcast and I got hooked on it not just from a game point of view, but from the actual manga, it is based on as well.

Remastering A Masterpiece

The original release was something that I immensely enjoyed on the PlayStation 3 when it was originally released. It was already a very well-made and highly polished game, but the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R remaster is taking it to a whole new level. The thing that has me most excited is that they have done a great deal of work on the game engine to make things faster-paced and more balanced.

Playing An Anime!

The flash and style of the series is very well captured in this game. The art style they went for back in the original release has meant that it has aged very well, but JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is taking things to a whole new level. The characters look stunning and there are even more of them this time around with around 50 fighters to check out. The game has a tremendous gallery mode too which really does show off that incredible artwork. The leap in resolution truly does make this look like you are playing through an actual anime.

So Much To Do!

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is stacked with game modes. The original release let you play through many of the iconic battles that the series was known for. Here, the main story mode lets you do that once again, but they have added in more content from story arcs that have happened since the initial game came out. There is a VS mode, an online campaign mode, and more. This is the kind of fighting game that is going to keep you busy for a very long time!

Style, But With A Ton Of Substance

A huge reason why I have always loved this series is the flashy fighting system that the game has. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R has tightened things up with more precise controls and better balancing like I said before. The game is the kind that is easy and fun to pick up and play, but there is also a real depth here. You have five buttons to worry about in the game. You have a light, medium, and strong attack, and dodge and you also have a button for style, which gives you access to more moves. There are five different styles that characters can have and this is really where the “depth” of the gameplay comes into practice.

Pros:

• The game has a large roster of characters
• I like how bright, colorful and crazy the visuals of the game are
• There are many different online and offline game modes to enjoy
• It is easy to play, but hard to master, just like a good fighting game should be!

Cons:

• The whole “craziness” of the game may be a bit hard for some people to handle
• There is no cross platform play
