Just Dance 2022

Today we are checking out the latest installment in the popular dance series, Just Dance 2022. Remember during the PlayStation 2 era when dance mats and dance games were all the craze? That was a fad that ultimately died out, however in the arcades dance games were still popular and Ubisoft managed to bring that magic back home, but without the need for a dance mat! This latest installment is not changing things up at all, but it does offer morefun tracks for you fans to get down to.

All the Right Movies

If you have played or even have seen a game in this series before, you know what the deal is. Just Dance 2022 has you shaking your booty to 40 tracks from past and present trying to match the movements you are seeing on screen. You use a smartphone if you are playing on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, but if you are playing on the Switch, you can use the actual controller. You are trying to get the highest score you can and you can play on your own or compete with your friends.

Flashy And Stylish!

The presentation of Just Dance 2022 is the same as it has been for ages now. The music plays and you have some cool dudes and dude-ets doing the dance moves you need to copy. It has a fun and funky look that is always appealing and I like how it is always easy to follow the dancer, no matter how crazy and colorful the animations in the background may be.

The Top 40

When you pop in your disc, cartridge, or fire it up on your PC, Just Dance 2022 offers you 40 popular songs to dance to. To be fair, 40 songs is a decent amount and they do cover many artists and genres. There is also a decent selection of game modes too, including one that is specifically aimed at kids and another that is all about you getting sweaty and getting in a good workout.

Just Dance Unlimited

The worst thing about Just Dance 2022 is their constant shoving it in your face DLC. To be fair, the asking price for Just Dance Unlimited is not out of line. However, all of the songs are always listed. So, if you are trying to pick a song that is part of the 40 included songs, you have to scroll past a bunch that are not included with that 40! It is very obnoxious in how they do it. It makes navigating menus a real chore and it just feels wrong. Again, Just Dance Unlimited is not a bad deal if you get into the game, but I hate the way they go about it.

While they have added nothing new to the actual gameplay of Just Dance 2022. If you have enjoyed the previous games, you are going to like what is on offer here. It is more the same, but that is what people love about this long running series.

Pros:

• There is a solid selection of game modes
• You can actually get a good workout
• I like how bright and flashy the game is

Cons:

• The constant in your face advertising for the DLC is very obnoxious!
• No changes at all have been made to the actual gameplay
