While you might think that this game is just a novelty, it’s actually surprisingly deep. The game features a series of authentic lawn mower models from respected brands within the industry. These models are true to life, rendered expertly and this is just a fraction of the reason why this game looks fantastic. Each blade of grass is rendered to perfection and the environments that you visit to mow are all varied and stunning. Sure, the textures do look rubbery and simple in places but this is to be expected from an indie game of this nature. So taking this into account its a very visually appealing game.

Then keeping with the deep and meaningful argument for this game. The player can become a career mower. Players will be able to take on a series of contracts for larger and larger properties. You will be challenged to complete these jobs within tight deadlines, you will be able to manage your finances and use them to buy bigger and better gear for the task at hand. Then by the end of your journey, you be a certified master of the mower.

Plus, it can not be stated enough that this game has the ability to hypnotize the player into a state of serene relaxation. Hours can slip by as you simply mow to your hearts content and since that is the sole purpose of this game, we would say this is a success. Does this game have a story, a killer soundtrack or any flashy mechanics? No, but we ask you, does it really need any?

The Verdict

Overall, Lawn Mowing simulator is always going to be limited by the niche nature of the subject matter. Plus the fact that the gameplay is rather repetitive which isn’t for everyone.
