"Madden NFL 12" was released on 30 August 2011 in NA and Asia and was released shortly after for Australia and Europe. "Madden NFL 12" was created by EA Sports but developed by EA Tiburon. "Madden NFL 12" was the last Madden game that included a PSP (PlayStation Portable) version. As well as being the lat madden game that was launched on the PlayStation 2. The Madden franchise is one of the oldest franchised games in history. As well as the oldest Madden game still running a sports franchise. the first Madden was released in 1988 and they've been making a new copy of the game every year since the '90s.

Upgraded Defense

"Madden NFL 12" was the first in the Madden franchise to add more realistic AI defensive game plans. In "Madden NFL 12," EA added AI improvements that would allow the AI to dispense zone properly or man coverage plays based on the plays you as a player choose. The first Madden game allowed AI to break out of their normal route based on the player's actions.

New Features

In "Madden NFL 12" they added several new features to the Madden franchise. "Madden NFL 12" was the first Madden game to add real pictures of rookie NFL players. One more new feature to make the game more realistic was to change kickoffs from the 30-yard line to the 35-yard line to be in line with the NFL's rule change they made for the 2012 season.

"Madden NFL 12" was the first madden game to add concussions as an injury resulting in that player not returning for the rest of the game. EA added a new collision system to make tackles more realistic in the 2012 version. They built on their existing playbook to now feature over 75 unique plays. This was the first EA Madden game to allow player trades for draft picks for the next upcoming season.

I gave "Madden NFL 12" a rating of 8/10 because it was ahead of its time for a sports game released for the PlayStation 2. They added much more realistic stadiums, fans, and cheerleaders. The game was the most realistic sports game at the time of launch. I also enjoyed the several modes from such an old sports game. "Madden NFL 12" included a franchise model as well as an auction-style draft. One of the most realistic parts I enjoyed was cutting down players on your roster from preseason to finalize your team player selection.
