Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja 4
CyberConnect2 Co. Ltd. did again with the release of Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja 4 in Feb 2016. Storm 4 brought better improvements for anime and manga lovers after releasing the previous series that hooked enthusiasts to actioned filled gameplay. The game is guaranteed to stick to the tenets of the core gameplay in the series. It offers a massive roster of characters entailed in the Naruto saga. Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 allows you to engage one-on-one battles in a free-roaming arena against a fellow ninja.
Storm 4 closes the franchise series with gimmicks that conclude the essence of the game. As if to take the fans to a new climax, the game will offer you with a sense of adventure and excitement pegged upon the numerous anime characters. The ninja aspect is not traditional upon the idea of stealthy moves. It is rather a party of fights in celebration of ninja moves just like in anime and mange movie series. As an enthusiast of the genre, being given the power to control the characters grants your wish to change the script from what you are accustomed to in anime movies to having control over the story.
Indulging in the Gameplay
Knowing that Storm 4 is the last in the series sets your mind to the kind of expectations you will encounter during gameplay. You would expect to get limited drawbacks from experience in the other preceding series. Also, you would expect new interesting additional features to the game. In part, Storm 4 has lived to that expectation and in the other part disappointed the players.
Playing the game offers better controls, more characters to choose and a pretty strong combat mode. I am particularly fascinated by the ability to change between three teammates while engaged in a battle. With a flick of a button, I can tag in my teammate to hold off the battle ort bring a new set of skills to the fight. If that player tires, I can introduce the third player as the other characters rest and recuperate. I can launch a series of attacks with Hashirama Senju, call in Hinata before finishing off with Naruto.
Having an unworthy opponent can render the game easy. The opponent keeps on spiralling into a repetitive cycle to constantly evade the spamming ranged attack of the game. However, being the last improved version of the series would sway you to get and keep the game. The notion is having Storm 1-3 packed under one game at least for memorabilia to remind you of the good old days.
My Take on the Storm 4
It is a game to reckon within the fields of anime and manga. The game is action-filled and new gimmicks like running on some wall surfaced are likely to keep you glued on your screen. You got to block out the notion of its drawbacks to fully solicit the experience the developers hoped for you.
The following are the pros and cons to consider before getting the game:
- Three-character assist
- Larger character roster
- Poor AI leading to unworthy opponents
