Conquerors Blade

Conquerors Blade is a free to play MMO that if I am being honest with you, I had zero interest in. However, I had a buddy that kept on at me about this game and how much fun it was so I decided to give it a try. Turns out he was right, I ended up getting really into the game and we had a lot of fun playing it. I will say that like most other free to play games, I did end up having my fill with it, but my buddy is still going strong and it is one of his top games of the moment.

Warlords Always Looking For War

If I am being real here, I am not entirely sure what the whole plot of Conquerors Blade is all about. What I do know is that we have this very cool medieval and feudal kind of setting that is just so badass. We have a selection of warlords that we can base our character around and the basic goal of this game is to be the warlord with the most power and most land at their feet!

Getting Your Hands Dirty

I can see why some people would get very addicted to Conquerors Blade as the gameplay is very well done here. This is a turn based strategy game with a real emphasis on quick thinking as it also has real time tactics gameplay as well. There are 12 classes that we can base our warlord around and we take direct control of them on the battlefield. We have a solid selection of main weapons to make use of, but we do also have to direct commands to our troops as well so there is a lot to keep your eye on during battle.

Getting Ready For Battle

I was impressed with the amount of stuff that there is to do in Conquerors Blade. The main game modes are in the standard battles section and here you have a couple of different options which basically boil down to a capture the flag style of gameplay. There are also weekly events and ranked battles for those that want to get competitive with the game. My favorite aspect of the game are the Expeditions where you can play in a PvE mode where you and your team take on tough enemies, this is mainly what me and my friend did and we had a blast.

No Escaping That Grind

As Conquerors Blade is a free to play game, I feel it is only fair we talk about the way they want you to spend money. The way I tend to play free to play games is I will get as much as I can out of them until I feel that I have to spend money or if they are very obnoxious about it, I will quit. I feel that the grinding here is a bit annoying, but to be fair, it is no worse than any other free to play MMO I have played. I never once felt tempted to spend money and I was able to hang with my friend who did purchase one of the founder’s packs. I am sure if I stuck with the game longer, chances are I would have had to have spent some money sooner than later.

Pros:

• I liked the selection of Warlords and weapons
• I had so much fun playing this with my friend
• The presentation of the game is fantastic
• While it does have grinding, it never felt completely unfair

Cons:

• Like most free to play games, I did eventually have enough
• I wish it had a bit more story behind it
