Creativerse

For those that like sandbox creative style games, Creativerse is a game that is sure to keep you busy for a long time. This is a free to play game that does have a “pro” version you can pay for, but I would recommend spending some time with the free version first to see if you think that this is a game you will be in with for the long haul. My son is huge into these types of games so he was the reason that I decided to check this out so I will be sharing my thoughts here as well as his.

The Elephant In The Room!

Ok, let's face facts here, Creativerse is always going to be compared to games like Minecraft and perhaps even Roblox. The idea of the game is to let players' imaginations run wild and let them create worlds, structures, games, and more. For those that love to be creative in their games, there is a lot here to keep you busy and happy. I can tell you from my son’s point of view, however, that while he liked this game, it never came close to toppling Minecraft for him.

A Land Of Discovery

If you are playing this on your own then Creativerse has for you a kind of similar experience to what you get in survival mode when you play Minecraft. You will have to explore all these diverse and fun biomes to find food, resources, weapons, and so on. You will also have to build, craft, eat and do whatever you can to not just survive, but eventually flourish. While the Minecraft comparisons are inevitable, I do have to say that the gameplays quite different from Minecraft. I have to say that I think Creativerse is not quite as smooth an experience if I am being honest.

The Blueprint For Success

One thing that I think is awesome about Creativerse is the building aspect of the game. With blueprints that will teach you step by step how to build things, it is a lot of fun to build all kinds of cool stuff in the game. This is a game that is very community driven and you can get other people’s creations in your game as well as share the stuff you have created as well. There is also a “creator” mode which lets you ignore all the survival stuff that the game has going on and just be creative.

Playing And Paying

The multiplayer aspect of Creativerse is pretty neat. I know that my son and one of his friends from school had fun playing this together and from what I saw, it was very easy for them to get into games together and have fun screwing around and making stuff. As far as the free to play aspect of the game goes, I do think it is quite fair. The pro membership allows you to make more than one world and there are also various customizations that you can spend real world money on too.

Pros:

• The game is very fair with its free to play offering
• I liked the survival aspect of the game
• For those who love to be creative, the only limitation here is your imagination
• It can be a lot of fun to play with friends

Cons:

• It is lacking that extra bit of magic that Minecraft has
• The pro version does feel a bit overpriced if I am being honest
