Cyber Manhunt - Hello World

Aluba Studios presented a game that involves one of the most important themes in our current modern world: cyber security. The cybercrime world is incredibly complex and harsh, this is a cyber manhunt game that also goes around the themes of networks of violence, big data, loss of privacy and information leaks, and all the other social issues related to data and technology, all of this in a game with puzzle-solving as the core mechanic. And many of the cases in the game revolve around real cases and figures similar to those you'll see in real life. We'll cover the DLC of this game, we are talking about Cyber Manhunt: Hello World. So, what's up with this game, and what is it really all about? Well, let's talk about that.

About the game

The plot of this DLC is really important for the entire game as it is very narrative-centered. So to talk about the game we have to start by going through the story first before getting into the rest of the game.

It all starts on a rainy night when a car accident takes place on a long and winding road. The driver was a senior researcher at Titan, Dr. Lucrezia Borgia. She was carrying important research and data documents, and the fellow Benjamin Engle was suspected of these crimes after he went missing along with Dr. Borgia's documents. The police ordered the capture of Engle as a suspect of causing this incident.

Benjamin Engle was, however, also a victim of the accident, but since his injuries were not lethal he was able to escape, following Dr. Lucrezia’s last words of how important it was for these documents to be delivered to the safehouse she had prepared and for them to not fall on the wrong hands.

Engle manages to retrieve the documents, but once in the safe house, he is greeted by what's supposedly an AI created by the doctor that tells him that it was not really an accident that happened. Benjamin Engle takes it into his own hands to investigate what really happened, without knowing he was getting involved in a huge conspiracy.

Cyber-complexity

Nowadays when you think about hacking and video games, chances are the words Watch Dogs immediately come to mind. However, this game is completely different from Watch Dogs, Cyber Manhunt: Hello World is a much slower and less action-based game, here the main focus is on the crimes and the puzzle solving. It is a thriller about dangerous conspiracies and the incredible complexity of cyberspace.
