HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED 2 - Turbocharged

I thought the first game was fantastic, one of the best arcade racers in years actually so when HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED 2 – Turbocharged was announced, I was very excited. As of right now, this is probably one of my most anticipated games for the end of 2023. The last game was a fantastic arcade style racer and this one is taking what they did there and making it even better by adding more content, more moves, and best of all, more vehicles to collect.

A Real Monster Mash

I was surprised to hear that HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED 2 – Turbocharged is going to have an actual story! The last game did have a campaign and it was fun, especially when they added franchise specific events like the Batman stuff for example. However, with the sequel they have actually crafted a story about monsters that are invading, and the only way to save the day is by winning a bunch of races. It is cheesy stuff, but I think for the world of Hot Wheels it works really well.

Racing Just Got Crazier!

While I loved all the different Hot Wheels cars that the last game had, it was the actual racing that made it so much fun to play. HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED 2 – Turbocharged is taking that same core gameplay we had in the previous game and expanding upon it! As well as the boost mechanic and the drifting that we could do before. We now have new moves that make races even more fun and add an extra element of strategy. The lateral dash lets you quickly move left or right to avoid an obstacle or to slam into another racer and there is now a jump ability too!

More Ways To Race & Things To Race With

I love how HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED 2 – Turbocharged is building upon what made that last game so much fun. The tracks and their locations were awesome and there are way more of them this time around with things like sand and grass having an actual effect on the way that your car drives. Speaking of which, collecting the Hot Wheels vehicles was what I found the most addictive about the last game and there are over 100 added to this new game! Even crazier is that as well as cars and trucks, quads, and motorcycles are now part of the action too!

That Creative Touch

I will admit that customizing the cars is not something I am interested in when it comes to HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED 2 – Turbocharged as I like collecting them the way that they are. However, there is a fantastic editor that lets you tinker with the colors and add cool stickers to the vehicles so you can put your own spin on them. The epic track editor lets you really flex those creative muscles as you come up with wild and crazy tracks to not just race on, but share with other players. Of course, you can also download and race on tracks that other players have made as well.

Pros:

• It builds upon what made the last game so much fun
• It is cool how we can now race with ATVs and motorcycles
• There are tons more new vehicles to collect
• The game is packed with stuff to do

Cons:

• I think if the last game did nothing for you, this one may not win you over
• I legit cannot think of anything else that I am concerned about!
