Lunacy: Saint Rhodes is a first person horror game and a game whose demo I have played through multiple times as of me writing this. I am always down for a horror game and I hand on heart believe that we are living in a golden age of horror video games right now. This one here is perfect if you love games that really get under your skin and just give you a really uneasy feeling the whole time you are playing. Like you want to explore, but you are also freaking terrified of what is lurking in the dark or behind a door!

A Family With A Tragic Past

One area that I think Lunacy: Saint Rhodes really succeeds in is its story. The game does not tell you a whole bunch, instead leaving it up to you to uncover it as you play. However, the basics are in this haunted town of Saint Rhodes our family was brutally murdered and we want some answers about what really happened here. We head out to find out, but we end up finding out more than we ever expected. This is pretty awesome horror storytelling and there are even two endings to experience.

Every Nook And Cranny!

One of the things that I have enjoyed about my time with Lunacy: Saint Rhodes is that exploration of this creepy ass place is really what it is all about. The town is not absolutely massive, but they give you a large enough playground so that this place really does send chills down your spine. From finding secrets about your families past, items that you may need or just checking out some of the more messed up and darker parts of the place, this is a game where you want to explore, but you are also kind of scared to do so and there is one good reason for that!

Atmosphere!

No, I am not talking about the 90s VHS board game which was awesome and a lot of fun, I wonder how much that goes for on eBay these days? Anyway, back on topic, the atmosphere of Lunacy: Saint Rhodes is awesome and just so very creepy. The first trailer of this game that I saw was this creepy evil looking woman standing on a staircase brushing her hair and it was just very unsettling. The whole town has major creepy vibes and I think that they have done a wonderful job here. Now, it may not have the presentation of something like a Resident Evil Village, but the game still has a rather realistic look to it which I liked.

No Time To Think!

While Lunacy: Saint Rhodes is a horror game, there are plenty of enemies in the game that you are going to have to deal with as well. I like how the enemies require a certain approach depending on what they are so you need to think. However, the game does not always give you the time to think so it does make the gameplay much more tense. I like how there are two endings, but I must be honest and say that I am not sure there would be a ton of replay value here once you have seen the two endings. To be fair, most horror games once you have had the life scared out of you do not have the same kind of appeal or magic about them on repeat play throughs.

I highly recommend that you at the very least check out the demo as it is a great indicator for if you will like this game. I feel that if you are into horror games, chances are you will get a huge kick out of the whole creepy ass vibe that this game has going on.
