In Midnight Ghost Hunt, 2 4-player teams compete against each other in spooky arenas in a deadly game of hide and seek. One of the teams is composed of the Ghost Hunters, whose job is to hunt the other team, the Ghosts. Each team has a unique set of abilities that will help them fulfill their objectives, which are eliminating all ghosts or getting rid of all the ghost hunters.

At first glance, Midnight Ghost Hunt sounds like a mix between Among Us and Dead by Daylight. Much of the gameplay is based on deception and luring targets to isolated locations. The ghosts’ most effective means of attacking is to possess background objects and lunge them into the other players, which means that ghost hunters always have to be on the lookout for which objects could be potentially deadly hazards.

The result is a game where players have to always be on their toes; after all, you never know if that lamp in the corner could be your demise. Of course, ghost hunters also can protect themselves against the ghoulish apparitions: their high-tech weaponry makes them a ghostbusting force to be reckoned with.

Variety Is Key

We can’t talk about Midnight Ghost Hunt without mentioning its brilliant art direction and level design. Levels are astonishingly well thought of, with tons of secret passageways and oddities to discover. They’re all positively creepy, too — which is something that elevates the game’s spooky atmosphere to the max.

Every location looks like your everyday haunted house: from eerie museums to a cursed pirate ship; no two maps look or feel the same. This varied design will keep players busy for quite a while, especially as they get accustomed to some of the game’s mechanics. The cherry on top of this spooky cake is the game’s spooktacular visuals. Simply put, the graphics look amazing. Lighting and fog effects make the game feel even eerier, and character models don’t look half bad, too.

It’s like developers Vaulted Sky Games saw Ghostbusters: The Video Game and decided to make a multiplayer FPS out of it. And you know what? It’s one of the most addictive multiplayer experiences made in the last couple of years or so.
