Nemezis: Mysterious Journey III

Even though there is a number three in the name, Nemezis: Mysterious Journey III is a game that for me has come out of nowhere. I know that is pretty ignorant, especially if you are a fan, but when I first saw the trailer, I knew this was a puzzle game that I had to check out. While this is a puzzle game, it is a very story-driven and atmospheric one and it has a plot that will have you wanting to make it all the way to the end to see what is going on.

Welcome To Regilus

The setting of Nemezis: Mysterious Journey III is a place called Regilus that was once thought to be a great place to gather various resources, but it has been long left alone, and now travel agencies use it as a one of kind destination for people wanting to getaway. The story is about two tourists called, Amia and Bogard.

Amia and Bogard find themselves separated and they need to find their way back to each other. There is a guide there to lend a helping hand, but this guy’s behavior gets stranger and stranger the deeper into the game you go.

So Much Style, But Also A Lot Of Substance

It was the visuals that initially drew me to Nemezis: Mysterious Journey III. This strange place of Regilus features many different and diverse areas that the game will take you to. Just when you think you have this place all figured out, something changes and leaves you asking more questions. The world looks great, it really does, but the character models do look a tad last gen if I am being honest.

Great Writing And Characters Can Go Far

Even though the character models are not exactly the greatest, I think that it is very easy to overlook. The reason for this is that Nemezis: Mysterious Journey III has some excellent voice acting which along with the writing brings these characters to life and makes you really listen to what they have to say.

Solving Puzzles Your Way

The gameplay here is that of a first-person puzzle and exploration game. This game is not shy about trying to make you really think outside of the box with some of these puzzles. This game can be very challenging and the reason I say can is because the developers were pretty awesome and put in some excellent accessibility options in the game.

You can decide just how much help you get with the puzzles and how laid out things are for you. There is also a “guide” that you can use too if you get really stuck. This is great as it means that those who really want to test their puzzle skills can, but those who are more here for the story are not held back and left frustrated.

Pros:

• This game has a fantastic story
• There are many interesting characters that you come into contact with
• I liked the way the game gives you different difficulty options
• The writing and the voice acting really do bring the characters to life

Cons:

• The character models are not bad, but they are not great either
• Some puzzles really will make your head spin!
